2. What is GDPR?
GDPR stands for the General Data Protection Regulation. It is an EU law that gives you control over your personal data. It applies to all people in the EU and EEA, including Ireland.
Under GDPR, we must be clear about what data we collect, why we collect it, and how you can control it.
3. Your Rights in Detail
Right of Access (Article 15)
You have the right to ask us if we hold any data about you. If we do, you can ask for a copy. We will provide it in a common format (like PDF or CSV) within 30 days. There is no charge for this.
Right to Correction (Article 16)
If any data we hold about you is wrong or not complete, you can ask us to fix it. We will do so without delay.
Right to Deletion (Article 17)
You can ask us to delete your personal data. We will do this if:
- We no longer need the data for its original purpose.
- You take back your consent.
- You object to the processing and we have no strong reason to keep it.
- We have handled the data against the law.
Some data may need to be kept for legal reasons. We will tell you if this is the case.
Right to Restriction (Article 18)
You can ask us to limit how we use your data. This means we can store it but not use it. You might ask for this if:
- You think the data is wrong and want us to check.
- Our use of the data is against the law but you do not want it deleted.
- We no longer need the data but you need it for a legal claim.
Right to Data Portability (Article 20)
You can ask for your data in a structured, common, machine-readable format. You can also ask us to send it to another controller where that is possible.
Right to Object (Article 21)
You can object to us using your data at any time. This includes using it for direct marketing (which we do not do). If you object, we will stop unless we have a strong legal reason to keep going.
4. Lawful Basis for Processing
We process data based on:
- Consent: You give clear consent when you fill in our contact form or accept cookies.
- Legitimate interest: We use basic analytics to keep the site working well. This does not override your rights.
- Legal duty: We may keep some data to meet legal rules (like age check records).
5. How to Withdraw Consent
You can take back your consent at any time. Here is how:
- Cookies: Clear your browser cookies and local storage. When you visit again, you will see the cookie banner and can make a new choice.
- Contact data: Email us at support@farooquest.com and ask us to delete your data. We will do so within 30 days.
- Game data: Your game progress is stored on your own device. Clear your browser's local storage to remove it. We do not hold this data on our servers.
Taking back consent does not make past processing illegal. It only stops future use.
6. How to Manage Cookies
When you first visit our site, we show a cookie banner. You can choose:
- Accept All: We use essential and analytics cookies.
- Essential Only: We only use cookies needed for the site to work.
To change your choice later:
- Open your browser settings.
- Find the cookies or site data section.
- Delete cookies for farooquest.com.
- Visit our site again to see the banner.
You can also block all cookies in your browser, but some parts of the site may not work.

- Cookies: Age check result, cookie consent choice. Stored on your device for up to 1 year.
- Analytics: Page views, time on site, device type. No names or emails linked. Kept for up to 6 months.
8. Data Transfers
We do not transfer your data outside the EU/EEA. If this ever changes, we will update this page and make sure proper safeguards are in place (like Standard Contractual Clauses).
9. Data Breaches
If a data breach happens that puts your rights at risk, we will:
- Tell the Irish Data Protection Commission within 72 hours.
- Tell you directly if the risk is high.
- Take steps to limit the damage.
10. Complaints
If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission:
